Tegfan, which means “Quiet Place” in Welsh, is a delightful village house sleeping 6 guests in the heart of the tiny hamlet of Parc, near Bala, Snowdonia. The house is situated adjacent to the River Llafar with beautiful views across the Aran and Arenig mountains which surround the valley.

Tegfan is very comfortably furnished and has oil central heating and 3 double bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor with an adjacent tiled shower room/WC, making it a great choice for less-sprightly guests who wish to avoid stairs. A highchair, stair-gate, cot are available at no extra cost upon request.

The kitchen is really spacious and well-equipped in typical farmhouse style with natural oak units and has a large dining table and portable colour TV, radio/cassette player. The kitchen comprises oil-fired Rayburn, electric hob and oven, fridge, freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher, toaster, cafetiere and electric kettle. Also on the ground floor there is a cloaks/utility room, with washing machine, sink unit and storage. The dining room has a large dining table with exterior door to the rear garden. The sitting room has a genuine antique oak Welsh dresser, TV and video, leather 3 piece suite and windows to the front and rear gardens. Heating is by electric radiant fire.

Upstairs are 2 further double bedrooms, both with fitted wardrobes and a fully tiled bathroom with bath tub, WC and hand basin.

Outside there is off-road parking for up to 3 cars. The front garden is walled and gated for child safety and security. The rear garden has a barbecue and furniture for al-fresco dining, and safe storage for bikes. There are beautiful views across the owners adjoining fields of the cattle, sheep and lambs (in spring) to Arenig Fawr, the local mountain. From the summit of Arenig, it is possible to see the tip of Snowdon - even the coast of Ireland on a clear day - and no less than 10 lakes.

A local guide is available for nature rambles, badger watching or some serious mountain walks. There are public footpaths in many directions from the front door of Tegfan for guests to explore. Please be mindful of the Countryside Code and kindly ensure that farmers gates are always kept closed. The bustling town of Bala, and Bala Lake, famous for its watersports and fishing, is just 7 minutes by car.
