Old Oak Barn

Old Oak Barn offers unique self catering accommodation for 4 or 5 in a secluded woodland valley. Situated in West Carmarthenshire near the Pembrokeshire border only 10 minutes from the main A40 at St Clears. The barn was renovated and restored in 2004/05 to provide a very high standard of accommodation - some may say luxury self catering accommodation. The main features are its very spacious south facing stone patio adjoining the building as well as the interior with plain white walls and wooden features many of which came from trees grown in Cwmpalis Woods. Underfloor heating provides an especially comfortable warmth all year round and enables the beautifully handcrafted alder floor to be seen at its best. We offer very child friendly accommodation but strictly no pets.

The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and contains all you may need for your weeks holiday or short break. The two bedrooms are simply furnished and are adjacent to the large main living room which measures 6 x 5 metres. Travel cot or small air bed can be used to sleep 5. We opened 05/02/05 and welcome those wanting a short break out of the main holiday season - minimum of 2 nights. We also especially welcome children. This part of Carmarthenshire is easily accessible from the M4 being approximately 90 minutes from the Severn Bridge - on a good run!

The gardens at Cwmpalis are very informal with flowers all year round. This summer Morning Glory has done especially well and sweet peas which I have been growing now for 30 years!
