Tyn Y Berth Hall was built in 1856 in the foothills of Cadair Idris in Snowdonia National Park, two minutes ride from the exquisite Tal Y Llyn Lake. In an area famed for it’s beauty and close to the Green Dyfi valley and the Centre for Alternative Technology it offers groups and families the ideal centre for exploring Snowdonia, Aberdyfi, West Wales and the mountains of Mid Wales from a comfortable, big house.
It is a lovely grand old Country House with high ceilings and cornices, plenty of room and character. Set in over two acres of grounds, it has a lovely aspect with three sunny terraces, large gardens and a small wood. The house is furnished with Victorian and Edwardian furniture and has high quality furnishings and bedding (The owners Phil and Ann run a sumptuous fabric shop in Machynlleth)
The Hall is equipped for you and your family to explore your creative talents.The music room has a baby grand piano and harmonium, for you to enjoy.
Painting. Should you wish to paint, an easel, painting and drawing materials are provided.
The front lawn is equipped with goal posts for five a side. (The turf is not up to Wembley standards). A selection of books is provided.
A telescope is provided to explore the stars.
A state of the art l.e.d lit high magnification microscope will amaze you as you study the specs that surround us.
Study the wildlife that visits us. Woodpeckers, Jays, all manner of tits, and birds of prey, squirrels, rabbits, and foxes that are frequent visitors. Put on a show. A dressing up chest containing wigs, hats, props and clothes including an Elvis suite and a naked suit (including detachable appendage so as not to shock the children)
Entrance hallway leads to a comfortable lounge seating seven people. This room has underfloor heating and an open fireplace to burn logs of an evening and toast your toes. French doors lead to a lovely sitting area that catches the morning sun.
The music/art room is opposite. This room has underfloor heating. A ground floor twin bedroom with access to toilet and washbasin. (sleeps 2). A large kitchen with adjoining dining room with large table seating up to ten, and access to an outside eating area that catches the evening sun.
